I gotta say Ableton is much easier to use guys. Memories came back of me just sitting till the morning rises and making synth sounds and stupid drops, fixing arbitrary mixing problems. So yesterday I wasn't having much to do at work and I downloaded FL Studio 20 demo just for fun to see if I could still make a Dubstep drop the way I used to and yeah I had a lot of fun. I felt like I drained the amount of different possibilities that genre had and I saw that there was just too much of that going on in the scene where every song would sound similar to the previous one and I went on a long journey to find a different sound I would love to create. Then I kinda moved on as I had no more interest in making those type of songs. I had a lot of fun and it was also very therapeutic as I felt this music was so beautiful with all those big supersaws, the sweep in and out of chords and melodies, the tension from keeping a minor chord and releasing it into a major chord, all those different timbres of synths I would synthesize from scratch. I literally would get goose bumps when I got to the part where I construct the drop. About what plugins work for dubstep in FL - all of them. Everything else is artistic choice.Usually, only the sub bass is in mono in any modern music production.

I used to sit for hours in front of my PC just making Melodic Dubstep or Trap or whatever else I wanted to try out I even made cinematic pieces, but mainly I made Melodic Dubstep and that's when I had the most fun and learned the most. In dubstep we usually see plenty of compression, limiting and saturation giving more room for the track to be in your face. I really had a blast and it's a part of my life I remember fondly.

I made my drum loops on the grid, I learned about scales and chords, how to make any synth sound from Flume to Skrillex to Seven Lions, etc.

I explored all the possibilities of FL in those 4 years. Since the first time I decided to download a daw, and see what's up with this EDM thing called Dubstep I just heard about, I used it for 4 years and then I switched to Ableton because none of my producer friends used FL and also I liked the warp markers because I could fix the lil mistakes I made when playing guitar just by quantizing the audio clip. FL Studio was my first daw and it's the place where I learned the most about music production.
